About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Welcome to the Journal of Second Language Teaching & Research (JSLTR). This is a new, open-access journal which hopes to provide a platform both for established and early-career researchers. JSLTR is engaged with building a community of practice (both online and offline) and supports debate and scholarship in second language teaching and research. The journal is published on a rolling basis each year and accepts research papers and forum articles from the fields of English language and modern language teaching. Research papers and forum articles are all subject to peer review before being accepted for inclusion.
Peer Review Process
1. All submissions are first screened by the editors to confirm that they adhere to the aims and scope of the journal.
2. Following successful screening by the editors all submissions will be submitted for blind peer review using anonymous reviewers drawn from the editorial review board of the journal. This process can take up to two months to be completed.
3. Following peer review all authors will be notified of the decision of the reviewer and a copy of their comments will be returned to the authors. Papers are evaluated according to the following scale: accept without revisions; minor revisions recommended; major revisions recommended; and reject.
Publication Frequency
The journal publishes one issue per year.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
